The "MAGNA GRAECIA COST TO COAST ROUTE" officially starts from Miami
MIAMI, April 15, 2026 – On April 12, opening the week of the Seatrade Cruise Global event, the official presentation of Magna Graecia Coast to Coast (MGC2C) took place in Miami. This project unites the ports of Taranto, Reggio Calabria, and Agropoli in an experiential cruise itinerary in the heart of the Mediterranean
The initiative was born from the collaboration between the Port Authority of the Ionian Sea, the Port Authority of the Strait, and Salerno Cruises. Its goal is to create an integrated model that promotes sustainable tourism through the discovery of ancient cultural roots, UNESCO sites, and food and wine excellence across Puglia, Calabria, and Campania. MGC2C proposes a new concept of cruising: a journey through the heritage of Magna Graecia, far from mass tourism and with a strong focus on local community engagement.
The presentation, addressed to cruise lines, international media, and cruise industry stakeholders, opened with a multisensory journey through the scents and flavors of Southern Italy: an authentic taste of the Magna Graecia identity that translated the project's vision into a concrete experience. Guests embarked on an evocative and immersive journey designed to tell the story of these locations not just through words, but through a path linked to the senses.

Each participant received a sensory bag containing gifts inspired by the involved territories, symbols of well-being, culture, and local tradition. This sensory narrative previewed the central message of Magna Graecia Coast to Coast: a journey across diverse territories united by a single, recognizable Mediterranean identity.
During the Miami event, the project’s official website was launched: www.magnagraeciacoast2coast.it. This serves as the new reference platform for companies e tour operators interested in exploring the itinerary and the ports involved.
With the Miami presentation and the online debut, the project now enters its operational phase, starting a joint promotion program for international markets to highlight the ports of Taranto, Reggio Calabria, and Agropoli as premier Mediterranean cultural destinations.
Next stop: The organization of a fam trip to discover the itinerary, aimed at cruise lines interested in experiencing the Magna Graecia “coast to coast" firsthand.
