Giovanni Gugliotti appointed President of the Ionian Sea Port Authority
PORT OF TARANTO, 12 NOVEMBER 2025 - By Decree No. 282 of 12 November 2025, the Italian Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo Salvini, has appointed Giovanni Gugliotti as President of the Ionian Sea Port Authority – Port of Taranto for a four-year term.
The appointment follows the work of the VIII Senate Committee on Environment, Ecological Transition, Energy, Public Works, Communications and Technological Innovation, which on 28 October approved the appointments of eight presidents of the Port System Authorities, completing the parliamentary approval process.
“It is a great honour for me to assume the leadership of the Ionian Sea Port Authority at such a crucial moment for the future of the Port of Taranto,” said President Gugliotti. “I am deeply motivated to work with commitment and determination to enhance this strategic infrastructure, which is a key resource for the local economy. During these months of the interim administration, I have reviewed ongoing and planned activities to develop a strategic action plan focused on practical results and collaboration. Together with the AdSP team, we consider it essential to strengthen networks with local authorities, institutions and all stakeholders, in order to create a path of sustainable and innovative growth. The Port of Taranto must lead a new restart, capable of revitalising employment, attracting investments, and developing projects that look to the future with tangible results. In the coming days, we will officially share the strategic development guidelines. These objectives, based on competitiveness, operational efficiency, and economic and social sustainability, will guide our work in the coming years, promoting a new integrated vision of the port and the city”.
