In line with the Europe 2020 strategy for sustainable, inclusive, and smart growth, the project falls within the macro-area of intervention dedicated to infrastructural and environmental context policies, contributing to the achievement of the goal of aligning the Port of Taranto’s infrastructure with the highest environmental, energy, and operational standards.
By executive decision No. 142 dated 12/10/2023 of the Department of Mobility – Section for Local Public Transport and Intermodality of the Apulia Region, the project was granted funding amounting to €10,174,799.21 for the construction works of the rainwater collection, conveyance, and treatment network in the common areas of the Port of Taranto, as well as the water supply and sewage network in the east area of the port. (CIG: 7765429AB9 – CUP: D51G08000060001).
With communication No. 0134594/2024 dated 14/03/2024, the same Department, as part of its interactions with the Managing Authority of the Programme, proceeded with the financial reprogramming of the project for completion purposes, under safeguard, within the framework of the Complementary Operational Programme (POC) Apulia ERDF ESF 2014–2020.
The works started in 2021 and its commissioning is expected to be completed by Dec 31st, 2025.
